1892 is seriously a long time ago. Parts–and particularly electrical parts–were largely the supply province of GE and Westinghouse.

GE (General Electric) stopped almost 75 years ago and WH (Westinghouse), with few exceptions, has left the supply room too.

Our Tongue in Cheek moto is: “If it was built before 1918 we can fix it. If after 1918…you fix it.” With today’s swift change in technology we embraced the new Lazer Water Jet use for things like controller burn tips for all K-type DC controllers. For some controllers we stock a reasonable number of burns tips for K-365, K-36 and brake controllers B-18 and B-54.

We have good, new and used parts. Some folks have part drawings and some have old parts to use as examples of what they need. We learned over the years that both GE and WH did not always make segments or burn tips that match in every controller. Sometimes you get lucky and parts fit. When you do, ALWAYS keep a sample. We have discovered length shortness by as much as 3/16 on each end of a drum segments, perhaps by early (pre-1910) casting shrinkage or difficult read on a tape measure. Who knows.

In some cases like B-54’s we make a longer segment burn tip by under 1/4”. This type of tip will need machining to fit. It will have the advantage of face lock, no gap bounce and it can lock down securely. Reality for installation time is about 1/2 hour.

We are on the West Coast but for small items USPS Flat rate boxes are a reasonable way to get parts in quick time.

We make burn tips fixed and moveable.

We make burn tips for LB-2 control handles, springs, and insulator.

For K- Controllers we make all of the butt joint and lap joint burn tips as apply to K-12, K-35 and K-36 controllers.

+Segments:

We make all of the segments to the radius, and mounting hole pattern for these controllers and B-54 controllers.

Arc doors and Arc segments are supplied in whole or part sections as needed. So, replacement of deeply pitted or burned thru segments are replaced.

Insulation panels (red board) and drum baskets can be supplied fully assembled with top and bottom holes drilled for mounting.

We make walk over open car seat hinges in two designs from original patterns and brass.

Grab handle post castings. Open and closed car gooseneck brass brake handles with ratchet. Are made by us from original patterns.

#12, #14, #16 and #18 up to 3” in length.

We supply new Westinghouse 8×10” brake cylinders for smaller cars, (12-ton like car 183 here at Ridgewood or a Birney’s car) In the range of 28’-33’ length.

8 1/2 Brake Cylinder, Universal 8 brake cylinder, ABU Type 8.5 x 12″ Wabteck #667058. Because this is a universal brake cylinder for small cars, it requires a supply line adapter. Please contact us for 1/2 threaded adapter flange and O-ring. Weight 62lbs.
